Going in Circles...

Can you believe we are already to the middle of June???  Time sure is flying by but it means a new challenge over at About A Boy.  For this mid month challenge the Girls are going round in circles.  The only requirements for this challenge are Circles and your Boy!

Aden has a large collection of the "Big Eye" pets.  On this particular day he was home sick from school and I thought a new big eye pet would help cheer him up.  Not even a new pet put a smile on his face.

For this challenge, I used a circle stencil from Studio Calico and sprayed it with Glimmer Mist.  More circles were added with doilies, circle washi tape, and circle embellishments.

Make sure you link them up at the About A Boy blog so I can check them out!  While you're there make sure you see what the other designers have made.  There is lots of inspiration there!

Things with wings....

There is a new challenge up at Frosted Designs to kick of the month of June.  This time around its a sketch and "Things with wings".  Here is the sketch and my take on it.

About A Boy....

Excited to bring you my first post for the About A Boy design team!  There will be two challenges each month.  One on the 1st and the second on the 15th.  Your projects need to be new for the challenge and about your "boy".....son(s), husband, uncle, dad, nephew....you get the picture.  :)

The first challenge this month is "Favorite Summer/holiday Activity".   

My boys love nothing more than a good hot day and a good play on the slip n slide.  They love to see how far they can go and how big of a splash they can make.

I used Basic Grey's "Hey Boy" and "Hello" for this layout.  I added the Studio Calico boy and made a wee crown for my "king".  A few dew drops finished the page.  I love how they look like drops from Aden's splash.

About A Boy Design Team....

I'm super excited to announce that I've been invited to be a part of the "About A Boy" design team!  Having three boys I have just a wee bit of experience making layouts of boys.  :)  I'm ready and excited to participate in their challenges.  Hope you will play along too!

I'm sure every scrapbooker goes through phases.  Phases of tools, products, "stuff" that they love to use.  I will admit to going through phases myself.  My punches have been sitting on a shelf for quite some time so the challenge at Frosted Designs to use "punches" on your project or layout was a good incentive to pull them out.  :)

I am not a card maker.  I do attempt to make cards but I know there are much more beautiful ones out there than mine.  :)  I admire those that can make cards but for the most part I'm sticking with layouts and other projects.  For this punch challenge I pulled out my heart punch and made a very simple card.

Thought maybe the rose from the garden would help beautify the card.  :)

Its a Blog Hop!

Hello Everyone!  I'm excited to tell you that Frosted Designs is going to be hosting 3 blog hops!  That's right THREE hops!  There are so many talented designers at Frosted Designs its sure to be a scrapping feast for your eyes.  There will also be many great prizes so make sure you join us for all three hops!

Black, White, and One other color...

Black and white layouts always look so striking to me.  Add in a pop of one color and you have a great combination.  That is the challenge at Frosted Designs this time around.  Make a project with black, white and one other color.  I chose to work with an aqua color for this challenge.  I love the way it pops against the black.
